As a young child, I was told by my parents to eat my meat or "no dessert". How cruel.
As a teenager, nearly 25 years ago, I stopped eating meat. This came naturally since I was then given the right to choose what to eat. Killing animals for food unnecessarily felt wrong, and I didn't like the taste of meat too much either. Now, I find it comforting to see that others share my ethical (Vegan) beliefs about animals when I attend a Summerfest, and I see the health benefits too. This would be in contrast to those who think with "military intelligence" , by believing its wrong to be different, noting that veganism is different from the mainstream, poor American diet.
